President Trump’s attack on Twitter on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, which she’s calling a “sexist smear,” is prompting a backlash among the Democratic women of the U.S. Senate. “Disgusting,” said Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. “It was disgusting. It’s clear what he was getting at.” Gillibrand is among four Democratic senators who called for Trump’s resignation after a week in which sexual harassment allegations forced the resignations of three lawmakers in both parties. The accusations are similar to those leveled against Trump by at least a dozen women during his 2016 campaign.
